Burn permits are issued at no charge call (479) 271-1005

Arkansas State Air Pollution Control regulations state "No person shall cause or permit the open burning of refuse, garbage, trade waste, or other waste material, or shall conduct a salvage operation by burning."

Household trash (paper etc), construction, and demolition waste (including lumber and/or wood), etc. are considered waste materials and cannot be burned according to state law.

1. Open burning shall not be offensive or objectionable because of smoke or odor emissions.
2. No burning will be allowed if atmospheric conditions or local circumstances make such fire hazardous (Burn Ban). Burn Bans may be issued for one of the following reasons:
a) Wind speeds above 10 miles per hour, if there is a question as to the wind speed, don't burn. High winds can quickly take a controlled fire and make it uncontrolled.
b) Dry conditions or very low relative humidity (below 30%).
c) Governor issued Burn Ban.
d) County Judge issued Burn Ban.
e) Fire Chief issued Burn Ban.

(Please note that your permit is only good for the day you apply for it, if you plan on burning more than one day you will have to apply for a new permit each day. The permit can be revoked at the discretion of the fire department at any time)
